The Supplier Value Awards

The Home Office invites suppliers to participate in a new Home Office Procurement and Commercial initiative.

The Home Office's awards for our suppliers

The Supplier Value Awards Programme (SVAP) is a new initiative which seeks to recognise the achievements of suppliers and staff in driving value from commercial activities and to help us meet the challenges of our Comprehensive Spending Review budget allocations.

The closing date for applications for the 2007/08 Supplier Value Award Programme (SVAP) has now passed and the award ceremony took place on 10 July in 2 Marsham Street.

This was a new initiative which sought to recognise the achievements of suppliers and staff in driving value from commercial activities and to help us meet the challenges of our Comprehensive Spending Review budget allocations.

This initiative has the support of the Permanent Secretary of the Home Office and the Home Office Board. The Home Office Group Commercial Director, John Collington has assigned Stuart Rowe, Deputy Director - Procurement and Commercial Transformation Lead, as the Senior Responsible Owner.

The programme is managed collaboratively between different Home Office procurement business areas such as UK Borders Agency (UKBA), Identity and Passport Service (IPS) and National Police Improvement Agency (NPIA) as well as the Home Office Commercial Directorate and is an ongoing programme.

The SVAP is aimed to encourage and recognise supplier excellence in helping the Home Office deliver value added benefits demonstrated through:

  • cost savings and value for money delivered – actual pounds and/or percentage of contract value (without detriment of quality)
  • other efficiencies driving value – timeliness, staff efficiency, improved quality of product, service and/or process
  • innovation and creativity
  • successful collaboration achieved – between the procurement professional and supplier
