6 July 2006
The first event in the programme was held at the Victoria Park Plaza Hotel on the 21st and 22nd June 2006.
This was the first in a planned series of Conferences, under the banner of Momentum, which aims to develop a new phase of engagement between the supply community. The event was quickly oversubscribed, pointing clearly to a latent demand for a closer dialogue.
The conference had an agenda focussed on 'Collaboration', a topic which came out high on the list of subjects that attendees at the Momentum launch requested on their feedback cards. Guest speakers included a number of suppliers, explaining how they were collaborating on various projects as well as a number of 'users'.
The agenda also featured an interactive feedback exercise called the 'Supplier BLOG'. The BLOG facilitation team of Diane Rampling, Andrew Filer, Richard Titcomb, Phil Lacey and Christian Carney, guided the delegates through the stages of the procurement cycle from 'Iniate', 'Tender', 'Action' to 'Manage'.
The BLOG proved to be very popular and elicited some high quality and well thought-out feedback. It is now planned to use this feedback to shape the future development of the Home Office's commercial relationships.
